Terms of Use
Effective Date: May 4, 2026
Welcome to Unridden, operated by Cobalt Edge LLC, an Oregon limited liability company (“Unridden,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Unridden website, application, services, features, challenges, leaderboards, content, and related tools, including unridden.app and any related services we provide collectively, the “Service.”
By creating an account, connecting a third-party service, submitting activity data, participating in a challenge, or otherwise using Unridden, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What Unridden Does
Unridden provides tools that allow users to track progress toward riding, skiing, or otherwise completing trails, runs, lifts, routes, or other outdoor features in supported areas.
At launch, Unridden is focused primarily on mountain biking. In the future, Unridden may expand to additional activity types, including downhill skiing, Nordic skiing, and ski resort tracking, including tracking runs, trails, and lifts where applicable.
Unridden may provide progress tracking, ride matching, statistics, badges, leaderboards, challenges, area completion data, trail closure information, and related community features.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Unridden.
By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 13 years old and that you have the legal authority to agree to these Terms. If you are using Unridden on behalf of an organization, club, sponsor, employer, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
3. Accounts
To use certain features, you may need to create an account using your email address and a magic link login process.
You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address associated with your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account information up to date.
You may delete your account through the Service where available. When you delete your account, Unridden will delete your personal data associated with that account, subject to reasonable technical limitations and any legal obligations that may require limited retention.
4. Strava and Third-Party Services
Unridden may allow you to connect your account to third-party services, including Strava.
By connecting a third-party service, you authorize Unridden to access, import, process, and store data from that service as described in our Privacy Policy and in the permissions you approve during the connection process. This may include historical activities and new activities received through API access, webhooks, or similar integrations.
You may disconnect Strava or other third-party services at any time where supported. Disconnecting a third-party service stops future access where technically available, but does not automatically delete data already imported into Unridden unless required by applicable law, third-party platform terms, or unless you delete your Unridden account or request deletion.
Third-party services are not operated by Unridden. Your use of Strava or any other third-party service is governed by that service's own terms and privacy policy. Unridden is not responsible for third-party services, their availability, their data, their policies, or any changes they make to their services.
5. Activity Data and Trail Matching
Unridden may process GPS tracks, route geometry, timestamps, activity types, and related activity data to determine which trails, runs, lifts, routes, or areas you have completed.
Trail and route matching is not guaranteed to be perfect. GPS drift, map inaccuracies, missing data, activity recording errors, environmental conditions, and other factors may affect results.
Unridden may determine, in its sole discretion, whether an activity qualifies for trail, area, challenge, leaderboard, or prize credit.
6. Public Profiles, Privacy Settings, and Leaderboards
Unridden may display user information publicly or to other users, including display name, profile photo, completion statistics, leaderboard entries, trail completion status, challenge progress, ambassador badges, and other related information.
If you mark your account as private, Unridden will limit the display of identifying information where supported. Private users may still appear in anonymous or de-identified form on leaderboards, rankings, statistics, or other public or semi-public features.
You are responsible for choosing your privacy settings and understanding that outdoor activity data may reveal sensitive information such as locations, routines, activity times, and frequently visited areas.
7. Safety, Trail Conditions, and Outdoor Risk
Outdoor activities such as mountain biking, skiing, trail riding, hiking, and related activities involve inherent risks, including serious injury, death, property damage, exposure, weather hazards, terrain hazards, collisions, equipment failure, navigation errors, wildlife encounters, and other risks.
Unridden is not a safety service. We do not guarantee that any trail, route, lift, run, area, or feature is safe, open, legal, maintained, passable, suitable for your skill level, or accurately represented.
You are solely responsible for:
- Your own safety
- Your equipment
- Your route choices
- Your skill level and judgment
- Checking current conditions
- Obeying all posted signs, closures, rules, and local laws
- Respecting land managers, trail builders, private property, and other users
Do not rely on Unridden as your sole source of trail, closure, navigation, avalanche, weather, or emergency information.
8. Trail Closures and Legal Access
You must obey all trail closures, land manager restrictions, posted signs, permit requirements, resort rules, seasonal restrictions, local laws, and other applicable rules.
Unridden may deny, remove, or reverse credit for activities completed on closed, illegal, restricted, private, unauthorized, or otherwise inappropriate trails or areas.
Closure information in Unridden may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable. You are responsible for confirming whether a trail, run, lift, route, or area is open and legal before using it.
9. Challenges, Prizes, Sponsorships, and Merchandise
Unridden may offer challenges, leaderboards, prizes, merchandise, donations, sponsorships, promotions, or events.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, prizes are not guaranteed. Eligibility, rules, scoring, regions, activity types, time periods, prize values, sponsor terms, tie-breaking procedures, and other requirements may vary by challenge or promotion.
Unridden may disqualify any user, activity, result, or entry that we believe, in our sole discretion, involves cheating, GPS manipulation, unsafe conduct, unlawful conduct, closed-trail use, violation of these Terms, technical abuse, inaccurate data, or behavior inconsistent with the spirit of the challenge.
Sponsored prizes may be subject to additional terms from sponsors or partners. Unridden may modify, suspend, or cancel challenges, prizes, or promotions at any time where necessary or appropriate.
10. User Content
You may be able to submit content to Unridden, including trail information, closure reports, corrections, comments, names, ratings, photos, ambassador edits, challenge suggestions, feedback, or other materials “User Content.”
You retain ownership of your User Content. However, by submitting User Content, you grant Unridden a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, display, publish, distribute, and create derivative works from your User Content for the purpose of operating, improving, promoting, and providing the Service.
You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit your User Content and that your User Content does not violate any law, third-party right, or these Terms.
We may remove, edit, reject, or disable access to User Content at any time for any reason.
11. Ambassadors
Unridden may designate certain users as area ambassadors, moderators, administrators, or similar volunteer roles.
Ambassadors may help define areas, manage sub-areas, review trails, verify trail names and difficulty ratings, maintain closure status, review reports, or perform other community-support functions.
Ambassadors are volunteers and are not employees, agents, partners, or legal representatives of Unridden. Ambassador status does not guarantee payment, compensation, prizes, merchandise, swag, employment, or continued access to ambassador tools.
Unridden may grant, modify, suspend, or remove ambassador status at any time.
Ambassadors must use their tools responsibly, accurately, and in good faith. Ambassadors must not knowingly add, promote, approve, or give credit for illegal, closed, restricted, private, or unauthorized trails or routes.
12. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Unridden for unlawful, harmful, abusive, deceptive, or fraudulent purposes
- Submit fake, manipulated, or misleading activity data
- Manipulate GPS data, leaderboard results, trail matches, challenge scores, or completion records
- Harass, threaten, impersonate, or abuse other users
- Access another user's account without permission
- Scrape, crawl, copy, or extract data from the Service without permission
- Reverse engineer or interfere with the Service
- Upload malware or harmful code
- Misuse ambassador, admin, or reporting tools
- Encourage trespassing, closed-trail use, illegal riding, unsafe conduct, or violation of land manager rules
- Use Unridden in a way that violates Strava's terms, OpenStreetMap's license, or any other applicable third-party terms
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we believe may harm Unridden, users, third parties, trail access, land managers, sponsors, or the outdoor community.
13. Intellectual Property
Unridden, including its name, logos, design, software, features, text, graphics, badges, branding, and original content, is owned by Cobalt Edge LLC or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works based on Unridden except as expressly permitted by us.
Certain trail, map, or geographic data may come from OpenStreetMap or other third-party sources and may be subject to separate licenses, attribution requirements, and terms.
14. Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions, improvements, bug reports, feature requests, or other feedback, you agree that we may use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.
We appreciate feedback. We also reserve the right to build the thing you suggested, even if you described it with suspiciously good phrasing.
15. Service Availability and Changes
Unridden is evolving. We may add, remove, change, suspend, or discontinue features, areas, leaderboards, challenges, prizes, integrations, or the Service as a whole at any time.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, secure, or available at all times.
16. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unridden disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and safety.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of:
- The amount you paid to Unridden in the 12 months before the claim, or
- $100 USD
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
18. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Cobalt Edge LLC, Unridden, and their owners, employees, contractors, affiliates, partners, sponsors, and service providers from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from or related to:

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account or access to the Service at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for Unridden or others, misused the Service, or acted inconsistently with the purpose or spirit of Unridden.
Upon termination, some provisions of these Terms will continue to apply, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute provisions.
20. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Oregon, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
21. Changes to These Terms
